I do trust all of the concepts you’ve introduced to your post. They’re very convincing and can definitely work. Nonetheless, the posts are very short for beginners. May just you please prolong them a bit from subsequent time? Thanks for the post.

Awesome blog! Do you have any tips and hints for aspiring writers? I’m planning to start my own site soon but I’m a little lost on everything. Would you suggest starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many options out there that I’m completely confused .. Any tips? Kudos!

Hi Traver. I just started watch your videos and I can’t stop now. I’m a foodie my self and your show is soo amazing. Can’t describe in words. I’m from Batticaloa. Eastern part of srilanka. I can’t remember a specific place to eat. I left 27 years ago and never went back. But the food from east is soo much different than northern part of srilanka. We use more spice. If you are in Colombo try Nana chicken place by Goleface. Front of the beach. All the food from their is soo amazing.
Have a safe trip my friend.

    Hi Trevor,

Very excited to hear you are going to Sri Lanka.
NUGA GAMA at the Cinnamon Grand hotel in Colombo, is a restaurant set up like a traditional Sri Lankan village offering traditional Sri Lankan food.
The buffet there has a huge variety of Sri Lankan Curries and dishes as well as traditional sweets and desserts.

    Hope you get a chance to try it;

Also the food from the Tamil regions of Jaffna and Batticaloa will remind you of your time in Kerala.

Enjoy Sri Lanka. You’ll have a great time.

Have this thing called Roast paan (it’s pretty much a roasted bread- very crusty outside and softer inside), chicken curry, parrippu (dhal), pol sambola (spicy coconut sambal)… if you chance to put butter in the bread, as in if it available at the place you get it…. sooooo good!!!

Also try fish rolls and egg rolls at this place called sponge on galle road. And an Sri Lankan ice coffee is must too!

Next time I’m in SL at … I’ve researched to try food at “Lunu Ambula” and “Pol Sambolya”. I’ve heard really good things🙂

Enjoy SL, happy to recommend more food if you need!

    Dear Trevor,
I recently heard that you’re looking forward to travel to Sri Lanka. I’m a 19 yr old who grew for the most part in Sri Lanka. You must beware of what you eat in Sri Lanka. Trevor, I travelled to Sri Lanka in June, 2016 and I stayed there for about three months, majority of Sri Lankans are suffering from cancer because of the food they eat. I recommend you not to eat at the locals and cheap restaurants. As a Sri Lankan, I have the credibility of writing to you a courtesy reminder that you need to beware of what you eat in Sri Lanka.

    Safe travels my friend

Hey, I really love your channel. We were in Sri Lanka in the autumn holidays for two weeks. Try the “Fish Point” in Weligama. It´s directly on the beach. You choose your fish or seafruits at one of the markets near by the street and the cook prepares the dish for you. It was very tasty. You can visit the local market in Kandy. Eat an ice at the “Cool Corner” in Kandy. Try Roti or Kotu Roti with different ingredients. You should try egg hoppers, too. At least you should try coconut sambol. If you can you should watch how they prepare it. They have a special instrument to scrape out the coconut. Very interesting. Sorry if my english wasn’t perfect. English isn´t my mother tongue 😉 Best wishes..

    Try pillawoos kottu – Wellawatta
    Jaffna style curries
    Chillaw style prawns /crab curry

Srilanka has wide range of curries and have many sea food dishes and vege dishes.depending on the regions curries would tend to be different. You can try places like gamey kadey, nelum koley (this one is in kolpity) and small places for packets of rice with different curries. Im not familiar with beef and pork dishes. But you could try biriyanis.
Also try wadey at galleface beach
You can find lot of food outlets in colombo area. String hoppers, hoppers, pittu, roast paan( a bread you shuld try wth pol sambol and some curries)

For sweets try newyear sweet meats

Pls could you also show vege, chicken and sea food dishes in China?

      Hi Oshadhi,

Thanks so much for the recommendations for food in Sri Lanka! We can’t wait! Yes, we will have to show more variety for dishes in China when we get back! All the best!
